Youth in the Library
Expected behavior from unaccompanied minors
The Bath Township Public Library has three foundational rules of behavior that we
expect youth to follow whenever they are on library premises.
These Rules are:
1. Be Safe
2. Be Respectful
3. Be Kind
Library staff are not responsible for the care, instruction, discipline, and/or safety of
unaccompanied minors and those who cannot behave safely, respectfully, or kindly will
be asked to leave library premises. Unaccompanied minors who are asked to leave will
receive a letter from the library notifying their parent/caregiver that they were unable to
follow the rules of behavior. This letter must be signed and returned to the library before
said youth is allowed to return without a parent/caregiver. Per the request of the property
owners, any youth asked to leave the library is required to leave the entire Four Corners
Plaza. Please be aware that staff does not have the contact information for every youth
that comes into the library and, therefore, it will be the responsibility of any
unaccompanied minor asked to leave the library to notify their parent or caregiver.
