This is a fun way to share the aloha spirit of the ukulele together as an ohana (family in Hawaiian). Taught by Michigan’s Ukulele Ambassador, Ben Hassenger, and sponsored by the Music is the Foundation non-profit; you will learn a brief history of the instrument and all the basics you need to get started playing right away, including:
• How to hold the ukulele
• Tuning the ukulele
• One-, two-, and three- finger chords
• Transitions between chords
• Strumming patterns
• Easy, fun songs
Loaner ukuleles will be provided as well as a three-ring binder for you to keep your lesson materials and song sheets organized. Lessons will be recorded and uploaded to the Bath Township Public Library YouTube channel so you can review and practice what you have learned.
We need to make sure we have enough ukuleles and binders ready for our sessions, so we ask that you call us (517) 641-711 or email us at info@bathtownshippubliclibrary.org and let us know you’re coming.
Looking forward to playing and singing with you soon, aloha!
